Philanthropy
Lambda Pi Chi's national organization was founded in 1988, during the peak of the epidemic of HIV infections. In hopes of helping the community, their national Philanthropy is L.E.A.A.P. (Latinas Educating on AIDS Awareness and Prevention). L.E.A.A.P. supports local orgs and helps provide AIDS reseources.
National History
The first Latina-focused sorority founded at an Ivy-league institution, Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. was established on April 16, 1988 at Cornell University.
